Group Accounting Manager

Due to the significant levels of growth both organically and through acquisitions, a rapidly growing PE backed group with projected revenues in excess of £400m and EBITDA of £100m, seeks a top tier candidate to work in the following key areas: 

• Group financial accounting processes (close, consolidate, report)

• Develop and improve the global accounting policy and financial control environment

• Assist in the implementation and development of supporting platforms (e.g. consolidation in Hyperion) 

  The group relies heavily on it’s ERP platform, which is adopted across 80% of the group & also relies

  on SAP Business Objects (BO) for operational and financial MI.  

  Consolidation is via a single entity and subsequently through excel modelling for Statutory close. The business needs to review this approach.   

  Specific initiatives the candidate will lead/support include: 

• Group financial accounting processes (close, consolidate, report)

  • Heighten balance sheet controls periodically (monthly, quarterly)

  • Clarity of use of consolidation processes, layers, GAAPP normalisation and close adjustments

  • Consistency in reporting structures

  • Clarity and sufficiency of intercompany posting and reconciliation processes

  • Contribute in a hands on way to closing the financial year, preparation of statutory financial statements (IFRS) and any associated accounting projects (business combinations, PPAs, valuations, treasury accounting) 

• Develop and improve the global accounting policy and financial control environment

  • Uniform and consistently documented and applied financial policies and processes

  • Codify and implement financial controls adequate for a main market IPO (the intended exit strategy for the PE backer and investors)

  • Support the divisional finance teams and colleagues in newly acquired businesses with adapting to the Group standard, normalising / managing localisation / GAAP differences and tax differences

  • Create and maintain the global accounting framework / model for the Group 

• Assist in the implementation and development of supporting platforms (e.g. Hyperion)

  • Support / identify the selection of appropriate tools and technology, to support the close and consolidation processes for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles.  

    Key stakeholders will include the CFO, Group FD, Group FPA etc.

    responsibility for1 direct report currently – Group Accountant. 

    The position will need a strong, experienced change manager with solid control / consolidation experience to help us take this to the next level.

Qualified, preferably ACA or equivalent, with relevant PQE.
