Our client is a profitable and growing, international and privately-owned manufacturing business. Working exclusively with us to recruit a Group Financial Controller, this is a high-profile role with strong potential to become CFO.
Reporting to the CFO, this role carries responsibility for all aspects of group financial management, reporting and internal controls. The role involves significant senior level engagement across the business both in the UK and overseas and with banks and auditors. The role involves managing a substantial team and is responsible for the timely and accurate management of group consolidation of management and statutory accounts and tax compliance.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all accounting and financial reporting developments are understood and accurately reflected in the group’s reporting
- Production of statutory accounts for the group and its subsidiaries
- Manage cash generation of the group
- Provide forward estimates of profitability and cash flow
- Support and execute the group tax strategy, including Corporation Tax, VAT and other taxes
- Implement a continuous improvement culture by replacing existing processes and procedures with improved ones
Candidates will be qualified accountants (ACA) with experience of:
- Working at group level
- Developing a framework of robust internal controls
- Technical financial and consolidations work, preferably involving reporting using IAS
- Influencing and team working
- Managing a broad team
- Working effectively to deadlines and to plan and prioritising effectively
Additionally, you must be used to working as a number two to the CFO or be ready to make that step and have ambitions to become the CFO.
