Management Accountant

An opportunity to work with a growing digital business based in Central London. The main responsibilities of the role will be to support the Finance Director and prepare accurate and timely management accounts. This will allow the business to understand key revenue drivers and in managing costs.

Detailed Job Description

  • To take charge and lead the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts
  • To improve the timeliness, relevance and quality of management information reporting to a Finance Director and also profit and cost centre managers
  • To work closely and business partner with the Sales team to review billings and cost management
  • · Maintain control over posting to relevant P&L accounts and ensure that accrual, prepayment and deferred revenue accounts are fully analysed on a monthly basis with appropriate backup
  • To help improve, maintain and develop the monthly management information pack, including focus on key profit drivers and variance analysis
  • To provide monthly commentary on results, key variances and trends for the relevant area of responsibility
  • To assist with month end planning, to ensure timely and accurate production of management accounts and to manage month end in line with plan
  • To work with the commercial team, the FP&A team and rest of the management accounts team to help analyse and interpret both financial and qualitative information in order to make sound recommendations
  • To prepare weekly sales reporting and variance analysis
  • To analyse and interpret historic data and forecast results and prepare trend analysis to predict future performance
  • To maintain high levels of service to the business and become an effective partner to the relevant commercial team, profit and cost centre managers
  • To work with the FP&A team to help ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting and to help identify trends / issues at an early stage
  • To provide financial input to multi-functional projects and provide insightful analysis
  • To work with operational departments on management accounting issues and

Candidate's Profile

The candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

  • The candidate will need to prove they have existing experience working in a similar position, or able to demonstrate they're comfortable working in this position
  • Experience of preparing management accounts, budgeting, forecasting
  • To have a good understanding of financial modelling
  • Able to communicate financial information effectively at all levels, including non-financial people
  • Able to assess and respond to the needs of the business
  • Objective, with strong analytical skills
  • Self-starter with a high degree of personal motivation and proactive
  • Challenges status quo and proactively identifies areas for improvement

What's on offer

The client is paying in the region of £50,000 - £55,000 depending on the candidates level of experience
