Assistant Accountant for a global professional services organisation based in Farnborough, Hampshire

Your new company
You will be working for a leading global professional services organisation based in Farnborough, Hampshire, a short walk from the main station. This business has operations in over 120 countries, with a focus on delivering insights through data and analytics to reduce volatility and improve performance for their clients. The company is set in modern offices with a great company culture.

Your new role
Reporting into the OTC Finance Manager, you will be responsible for monthly/annual revenue recognition control with a focus on fee and commission revenue, you will also manage revenue audit process, regularly reporting results both internally and externally. As part of the finance team you will also support with month end close including the review and approving journals prior to posting, and balance sheet reconciliations. You will also act as point of contact for offshore and outsourced revenue system support teams.

What you'll need to succeed
In addition to studying for a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT), you will have previous exposure to revenue accounting, although if you have proven experience with a similar organisation within operational accounting you will be considered. It would be advantageous if you have dealt with SOX or auditing in a previous role. Attention to detail, along with the ability to resolve queries and issues posed, therefore thinking outside of the box and great communication are a must. You will also have intermediate Excel skills and previous working knowledge of accounting systems, and Peoplesoft would be a bonus.
