Sellick Partnership have been engaged to recruit a permanent Head of Finance (Commissioning) to join NHS Kernow CCG, situated in St. Austell a lovely coastal area of Cornwall.

The opportunity…

This is an exciting and challenging senior leadership role, which requires a combination of strong technical financial and contract management knowledge gained within the public sector and also strong relationship management skills.

The ideal person will want to make a real difference… This role is highly challenging and requires someone who really wants to make their mark in public sector finance!

Key elements of the role will include:-

  • The planning, negotiation and management of contracts with NHS and other providers, in line with operating plans and 5 year strategies
  • Developing innovative financial mechanisms to support the delivery of new models of contracting for improved quality, performance and efficiency
  • Ensuring robust financial management systems are in place to support proactive contract performance monitoring that enable activity and financial variances and trends to be monitored, reviewed and the performance issues acted upon
  • Ensuring that financial services in the CCG are high quality, customer-centred, innovative and reliable, and that they demonstrably provide added value for the organisation
  • Line management and professional leadership responsibilities for members of the commissioning finance and technical contract management functions
  • Proactively contributing to the multidisciplinary team by working across functional boundaries and flexing resources to support organisational priorities

The salary range is between £56,665 to £69,168, plus excellent benefits and the potential of a relocation agreement.
