An exciting Retail brand is seeking a Finance Manager with Order to Cash experience to join them on temporary basis with scope to go permanent.
This role sits within the Financial Reporting team and is primarily focused on managing all aspects of the order to cash process. This role requires someone with vision and the ability to deliver change.
The role works closely with Finance Systems, Treasury and Customer Care teams as well as with the company's external and internal auditors.
What you'll be doing:
(a) Financial Accounting:
- Accountable for all cash and customer deposit financial postings recorded in each legal entity's general ledger to ensure all entries are reported in line with IFRS accounting standards and suitable treatment has been applied to form the basis for the external results
- Accountable for timely, accurate and detailed bank account, customer deposit, gift vouchers, gift card and transaction cost accrual balance sheet reconciliations as well as monitoring and communicating potential balance sheet risks and opportunities in these areas
- Responsible for the implementation of the new bank reconciliation system and managing the training requirements of the cash team, including prioritising and addressing the variances identified and working with the Finance Systems and Customer Care teams to resolve any differences identified
- Responsible for the continued improvement, development and maintenance of knowledge of the Order to Cash processes
- Manage and review all transaction and charge back costs and accruals to ensure complete and accurate costs are included in the accounts, working closely with Treasury to ensure costs are accurate and in line with contractual terms
- Develop reporting on all aspects of cash related entries in the accounts, including cash balances held by currency, transaction costs by acquirer, write-off of cashfeeds by acquirer and aging of amounts held in the customer deposit, gift vouchers and gift card accounts
- Develop a more efficient, automated process with the Accounts Payable and Treasury teams for employee credit cards
(b) Financial Control:
- Ensure appropriate and robust financial control environment on all order and cash related areas, spanning from the posting of journals to assisting with supporting documentation for the external audit
- Ensure financial controls, processes and risks are documented for all order and cash related areas and regularly updated to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business
- Work with operational business areas to identify potential process and control weaknesses and continually develop improvements
- Assist in the delivery of interim and year-end audit information for external auditors as well as ad hoc internal audits as required
- To assist in other ad hoc projects as required by the Interim Financial Controller or Senior Financial Accounting Manager to provide business insight and ensure that objectives and deadlines are met
(c) Team Management:
- Lead the Order to Cash team to deliver objectives aligned with Finance goals, including excellent stakeholder management with the Treasury and Customer Care teams
- Provide coaching to team members and support them in their career development, creating a supportive learning environment in which talent flourishes
- Manage and support the team during month end and year end process to ensure all deadlines are met
The ideal candidate will be an experienced order to cash accountant - preferably qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/Equivalent) and have:
- Previous retail experience
- Comprehensive understanding of IFRS accounting standards and practical application
- Experience of carrying out or providing information for external and internal audits
- Experience in producing high-quality analysis and reporting
- Experience of working with non-financial stakeholders across multiple business areas
- Experience of working with senior levels within a business and adopting a professional approach at all times
