Role Background:

Our client  is seeking a highly competent senior finance professional with a proven track record in a similar leadership role to head its commercial finance function. The finance culture is collaborative and open and puts its people at the heart of its performance strategy.

Role Overview:

To lead and motivate a team of finance professionals to support the commercial agenda of the business. Partnering with the business at senior level to ensure the provision of proactive, dynamic and focused commercial finance expertise through first class analysis and interpretation of financial information within an environment of effective financial controls and processes.

  Role Purpose:

A pivotal role to drive the financial planning cycle for the company. To develop a true business partnering FP&A function across commercial, supply chain & central overheads. To create a finance function that is built on a strong control ethos which adds value through providing insight to the business and challenges the status quo

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinating management reporting activities, challenging performance and co-ordinating all UK reporting to the Group.
  • Manage the production of value adding financial analysis and drive the continual development of FP&A activity across the business.
  • Set KPI’S to track overall business performance through factors such as sales trends and market intelligence.
  • You will seek to ensure that the business is provided with a clear view of risks and opportunities that it faces.
  • Take the lead in driving and planning the flow of data to ensure that the finance systems support the business objectives.
  • Develop the UK management reporting strategy enabling it to be standardised where appropriate.
  • Lead and continually improve the budgeting and forecasting processes including the budget, monthly forecasts and co-ordination of the strategic plan.
  • Ensure that the team is a highly capable, driven finance team through training, development, support and mentoring.
  • Constantly working with the Exec to maximise financial support to the business.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the business model in order to analyse and influence business strategy.
  • Participate as a key member of the Leadership team driving the right cultures and behaviours across the wider organisation
