We require an individual to lead and manage the accounting of the income activities of the University, prepare the management accounts for the University’s business sections and to take a lead in financial system developments.

You will work with business managers in the development of their annual budgets, advise them on the financial aspects of their activities and ensure that they comply with the University’s financial regulations and policies.  You will have a critical role to play in ensuring managers work within the confines of their budgets by the monthly dissemination of management accounts to inform decision making.

You will be a qualified accountant with relevant previous experience working as a management accountant.  Data analysis skills in Excel are an essential part of this role and an aptitude for finance system development is required.

You will also be an excellent communicator and team leader and be able to deal with colleagues at all levels of the organisation, including those with limited financial knowledge.  There is a significant element of cross team working which will require excellent negotiating and diplomatic skills.
