Totum Partners are excited to be working with one of Jersey's pre-eminent offshore law firms in its search for a Business Systems Analyst. Based in the finance function and reporting into one of the senior finance managers, this role requires a seasoned finance systems specialist with exceptional communication skills who has previously worked in a corporate law firm environment. This could be a fantastic opportunity for someone used to working in a large legal business to continue working with individuals in the top tier of their chosen specialism but in the picturesque surroundings of the largest of the Channel Islands.
The main duties of the role include managing, supporting, controlling and developing /improving the use of functionality of the Group's Practice Management system, ensuring alignment to any relevant systems across the group; assisting with the management, reporting and development of Finance related platforms for example, Collections and WIP management, forecasting, cash flows and matter profitability; generating financial reports as required; and developing financial reports in order to achieve business objectives. The role has responsibility for the administration and following of structured testing procedures for upgrades and product releases, providing first line support for Practice Management system and working with the IT Group Team to monitor output. This is to ensure all automated reports are generated in accordance with report timelines so there are no delays and reporting any issues to the IT team promptly.
The role requires a strong communicator who is well experienced in acting as the conduit between finance and IT departments as well as with other business service and fee-earning teams. Being able to discuss issues around the functionality and effectiveness of the practice management systems in a language that all parties understand in order to make improvements is really key to making this role work so previous examples of this must be displayed on CV's. Previous legal services or corporate professional service sector experience in a finance systems-focused position is also a pre-requisite.
