A successful and long standing manufacturing company has an opportunity for a Financial Controller to join the business.

Reporting to the Finance Director the duties and responsibilities will include the following:


  • Supporting General Manager in driving the financial performance of the company's core business, ensuring targets are met for EBITDA, Working Capital and Cash Flow.
  • Develop pricing, Revenue and gross margin reporting through new system.
  • Responsible for ensuring GAAP compliance (UK GAAP, US GAAP, FRS102)
  • Responsible for ensuring SOX compliance and Internal Audit controls, DOA and LDM across UK functions
  • Oversee the month end close process (4days) to ensure accurate and timely information is processed to the US Head Office
  • Assist in the preparation of Rolling 12 month forecasts / Budgets and Strat Plans and subsequent reporting packs
  • Management of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and development of staff to improve metrics in these areas
  • Point of contact for External / Internal Auditors - including annual stocktake
  • Assist in the preparation of UKGAAP Statutory reporting
  • Ensure accurate Journal Entries & Balance Sheet Reconciliations are maintained
  • Key team member in the new System implementation (MAPICS) project.
  • Development of MAPICS system to drive business efficiencies and develop labour and overhead reporting.
  • Management of Capital expenditure budgeting / forecasting process and tracking of performance against them
  • Responsibility for maintenance of standard costs and investigation/interpretation of production variances
  • Has responsibility for production of all internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that the resource, systems and controls in place are sufficiently robust to deliver all current and future reporting requirements.
  • Development of enhanced management reporting to include departmental overhead spend against forecast and budget and customer/product profitability analysis
  • Lead and ensure that the performance of the UK finance team meets both departmental and company objectives
  • Liaise with PWC on Tax returns and manage VAT reporting.
