Management Accountant

The Opportunity

This is a newly created role with a key focus on supporting the growth of this international business with their expansion in the UK. This is an autonomous role where the successful candidate will be given the responsibility of implementing financial controls, constantly reviewing and improving existing processes. This company has a global reach with a presence in North America, Europe, Japan and China.

The Role

As the Management Accountant you will be responsible for producing the monthly management pack, setting budgets and KPI’s across the UK business, providing the directors with improved visibility in relation to all financial activities.

• Maintaining accurate financial records to enable the monthly preparation of management accounts, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and commentary on a timely basis
• Preparing annual budgets and continually monitoring performance against budget and communicating variances to management
• To lead process development and improvements, identifying and implementing best practice processes to ensure the smooth running of the business going forward
• Managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• Liaising with auditors during the annual audit
• Monitoring costs allocated to capital projects and tracking expenditure in line with approval
• Working closely with the Purchasing function to ensure the correct coding of costs and capital expenditure
• Understanding and responsible for the revenue recognition process, including deferred and accrued revenue

The Requirements

• Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Be analytical and able to demonstrate a problem solving nature
• Be self-motivated and able to work autonomously
