Head of FP&A

Our client is a leading private equity backed retailer with ambitious growth plans. This role will be focused on the financial planning cycle of the business over a one to five-year timescale. Reporting to the CFO key responsibilities will include –

• Responsible for financial planning function within the business covering annual budget process, quarterly updates and 5-year planning processes
• Presentation of plans to CFO and Exec Management Team highlighting opportunities and risks to the plans being presented and ultimately presenting plans to the main board when required
• Working with colleagues to ensure the planning process is robust and transparent across all elements of the business
• Lead the Capital Expenditure Approval process across the business to ensure the most efficient use of capital expenditure and that is consistent with the timescales for investment from the current owners
• Control and report on Open to Buy for the business by working with the Merchandise Planning Director to create a process where Open to Buy is identified and adhered to
• Lead the analysis and insight function within the business to provide commercial teams with challenge and insight into trading decisions as well and providing support to EMT on trading and other commercial decisions
• Help and support the CFO in capital raising and other corporate transactions as required
• Managing and building a team of up to 4 people

You will be a Qualified Accountant with previous experience of working in a fast-paced business. You must have experience of carrying out complex financial analysis and be comfortable in making proposals to the business. You must have excellent stakeholder management skills. Experience of working for a business in the retail sector would be hugely beneficial.
