Financial Investigator and Confiscator

The Financial Investigation Unit is currently based at Radford Road Police Station and there are three permanent vacancies available immediately. 

Position: Accredited Financial Investigator and Confiscator 
Location: Radford Road Police Station, Nottingham 
Job Type: Full Time 37 hours per week, Permanent 
Salary: £28,107 to £33,264 

About the role: 

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to be involved in the investigation of serious crime working as part of a team on sensitive, complex and difficult investigations using the full range of financial investigative techniques. 

Your role will be working as one of a team of experienced Accredited Financial Investigators, who will be required to conduct a number of investigations into complex money laundering enquiries and supporting other departments across the organisation with confiscation enquiries. 

The post also involves the investigation of cash seized under S295 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and conducting cash forfeiture enquiries. 

The ability to prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines is essential. Additionally you will have good experience in the use of computers and exceptional report writing skills. You will possess good communication and listening skills and be self-motivated to problem solve and achieve tasks effectively and provide tactical advice in the use of Financial Investigation techniques on a variety of investigations being conducted by teams and departments across the organisation. 

You must be prepared to travel to other locations within the East Midlands region to conduct this role if required. 

It is essential those applicants: 

• Hold current Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 Financial Accreditation, Part 2, Part 5 and Part 8 with proven experience of Financial Investigation and Asset Confiscation. 
• Demonstrate proven experience in investigating crime particularly that of a complex, protracted and serious nature. 
• Demonstrate knowledge of Legislation and procedure associated with serious and organised crime investigation, in particular the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. 
• Demonstrate proven experience of evidence gathering techniques in complex operations and of preparing complex prosecution files. 
• Demonstrate proven experience of interviewing both witnesses and suspects. 
• Demonstrate proven experience of exhibit handling and the disclosure of material. 
• Hold a current clean UK Driving Licence
