Interim Head Office Accountant

Our client is a Europe-wide business setting up a new Head Office in the UK.

The Head Office Accountant will be responsible for setting up the accounting for all UK level holding and management companies. The role will also supervise the off-site accounting for certain non-UK incorporated holding entities.

Your duties will include:

• Responsible for the monthly accounting of UK level holding and management legal entities (HQ entities)
• Responsible for the completion of and filing of all statutory financial accounts for HQ entities
• Preparation of forecasts and budgets for the HQ entities
• Preparation of monthly spend analysis reports compared to prior year, budget and forecast, identifying and discussing variances with the heads of each function for their repsective cost centres
• Setup and ensure an appropriate process for process and approval of invoices for HQ entities
• Setup and ensure an efficient and adequate process for the allocation and recharging of headquarter costs to the Group business units, together with the Group tax department and in line with transfer pricing guidelines
• Liasion with external auditors to ensure completion of the annual audit for the HQ entities
• Coordination with Group tax department to ensure timely and accurate completion of all corporate tax and VAT returns
• Coordination with Group HR to ensure appropriate payroll procedures are in place and the correct monthly accounting processes are applied
• Coordination with Group Treasury to ensure that appropriate cash and liquidity management processes are in place in order to ensure payment of payroll and invoice expenses

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• Strong experience in setting up from scratch Head Office accounting functions
• Set up accounting functions for multiple legal entities
• Strong interpersonally with experience of working in layered international environment with multiple stakeholders
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified accountant
