Senior Commercial Analyst

They are looking for a Senior Commercial Analyst to deliver advanced insight and value added analysis to the division which drives profitability.  To build strong relationships with key divisional contacts and support the operations to deliver their plans

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Commercial Analyst:

• Ownership of budget and planning model. Create consolidated version and keep updated on ongoing basis to feed into budget and planning cycle
• Proactively identify opportunities for the division to improve profitability through insight and analysis
• Identifies problems concerned with strategy, policy, markets, organisation, computing facilities, procedures and methods
• Advises the organisation in light of research findings
• Build strong relationships with key operational contacts and provide high quality analysis that helps Operations drive improvement
• Ensure that you are commercially aware of all key trends and activities within the division
• Take responsibility for challenging and improving the quality of current reporting and ensure that all KPI reporting is focused and relevant
• Responsibility for delivering improvements in modelling, forecasting and analytical techniques to improve reporting and analysis
• Lead role in all planning and forecasting activities of the division – actively contributing to the planning process and decision making regarding assumptions, ensuring that these are robust and defensible
• Provide analytical support on key business decisions, including new business initiatives and appraisal of projects
• Work with peers to share knowledge, ideas and best practice to drive improvements in analysis and reporting across the division

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with some post qualified experience and an exceptional academic record, having trained in a Big 4 firm or a blue chip large, complex business. You will have the ability to manage and manipulate large volumes of data as well as have a track record of delivering quantifiable benefits to businesses, be results driven and have advanced knowledge of financial modelling and analytical techniques as well as an understanding of BI technical infrastructure.
