Investigo are currently seeking an immediately available Data and Reporting Analyst for a well known business based in Hertfordshire.


This role has the opportunity to produce transformative change within the finance department. To work with all parts of the finance department and change the approach taken to accounting and reporting. The business currently SAP for its accounts, a data warehouse for analysis and Cognos for its standard management reporting. The finance department still produces a significant number of reports manually in Excel and often with reference to small datasets outside the reporting system.


The objective for this role / project is for all data necessary for reporting to be held in a structured way in the reporting systems and for all reports to be automatically produced from the reporting system.


The objective of this role is to facilitate reporting from the data warehouse and Cognos.


Key Deliverables:

  • Work with the finance department to identify any data sources, (either transactional or master data) to be added to the Data warehouse
  • Identify reasons why manual reports cannot be taken directly from the Reporting systems
  • Document any necessary changes to be made to the Accounting, Reporting systems or reports to facilitate automated reporting
  • Liaise with the IT department to deliver the requested changes
  • Build reports in Cognos

  • Qualified Accountant with significant systems experience
  • Possess a high level of commitment with respect for deadlines, ownership of reporting and other responsibilities.
  • Team - need to work in a team environment and to understand requirements of senior management.
  • Must be able to gain commitment and buy in from colleagues
  • Strong understanding of Accounting processes and Management Accounting
  • Strong understanding of Information systems and Reporting systems
  • Strong communications skills - important to influence and communicate with colleagues at all levels.
  • Good at managing multiple tasks and prioritising.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Good system skills and IT skills with excellent excel, the ability to use / learn how to user reporting tools
  • Knowledge of SAP and Cognos ideally
