Graduate Finance Assistant Accountant
Luton
£25,000 + Study Support in ACCA or CIMA
At least an 2.1 in a Finance Based Degree and ideally a placement year completed
An instantly recognisable brand based in Luton are looking for an ambitious and dynamic Finance graduate to join their commercial/ operation finance team as an Assistant Accountant.
This would suit a recent graduate who has received a minimum of 2:1 honours in a finance based degree and has successfully completed a work placement.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be integral part of the finance team, heavily involved in supporting the expansion of their business.
You will be providing insight on the key drivers for cost charges and supporting the period end close, also you will provide effective and analytical support to the Finance Manager and stakeholders.
Key Duties
- Manage reconciliation of balance sheet accounts in a timely manner with supporting schedules and thorough understanding of the balance sheet position, managing risk and opportunities with the business
- With support from the Finance Analyst and the Finance Manager, start to develop in a true Business Partner framework to Operations
- Prepare month end journals and post to ledger ensuring accuracy and adhering to accounting standards.
- Take ownership of projects / work with a specific underlying issue across the team to generate results. Report regularly and effectively on performance against project goals.
- Manage accounting associated with overheads ensuring that necessary reallocations of costs are maintained in a timely manner.
About you
A motivated graduate with excellent academic credentials, a self-starter with the ability to work under pressure, multitask effectively and to plan and prioritise. You will have a University degree, preferably in Mathematics, Finance/Economics or Accounting related fields, and interested in pursuing a career in finance.
Additional key skills in Excel and being highly IT literate is essential and along with excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
