We are currently recruiting for a Finance Business Manager to join a well-known, market leading company based near Colchester on a permanent basis.

This is a newly created role and will act as the lead finance business partner for the companies technology department. The role will report directly in to the Deputy CFO as well as advising the Group Operations Director so therefore offering fantastic profiling across the business.

Over the next few years our client will be investing a significant sum in improving and upgrading its key business IT applications and infrastructure. The Business Manager has a commercial role to play in ensuring that this significant investment is controlled, in addition to the financial management of a significant operational budget. The role includes leading the Technology budgeting and forecasting process, actual cost reporting and investment appraisal and post project reviews.

To be successful the Business Manager must make an active contribution to the Technology leadership team, working on all financial aspects from strategy through to execution.

Responsibilities include:
- Manage financial support for the ongoing strategic review of the technology roadmap
- Financial leadership and input into strategic project investments
- Lead a small team and actively manage their development and performance
- Proactively manage the Technology finances and ensure all reporting, analysis and commentary is fit for purpose
- Play a key role in the authorisation process for Technology spend and ensure authority levels are appropriate
- Lead the Technology budget and forecasting process
- Accountable for the delivery of accurate and timely monthly management accounts for Technology
- Direct and lead all adhoc financial analysis or financial project work

Key skills:
- Qualified accountant with relevant post-qualification experience
- Commercially aware
- Advanced IT and systems skills, e.g. Excel
- Proven track record in finance business partnering
- Ability to present data in an accessible manner
- People management experience
