SF Group are recruiting for a Financial Accountant for an exciting and rapidly growing Financial Services business in Nottingham. You will work to support the Group Financial Accountant to develop and manage the Group’s financial reporting and compliance processes. This role is a brilliant step for a part-qualified applicant. Working to support the Group Financial Accountant in the company wide aims to achieve goals of excellent customer experience and being a great place to work.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Compiling and maintaining the Group’s monthly financial consolidation and ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards
- Assist in the preparation of year end Statutory Accounts using Caseware and the compilation of draft tax computations
- To assist with the annual external audit and support the ongoing internal audit processes
- Assist with the implementation of new transactional finance systems and processes
- Pro-actively contribute to maintaining and improving a strong internal control environment, identifying and proposing potential solutions
- Assist with the month end close process
- Respond to all queries in a positive and timely manner whilst adhering to the escalation policy at all times
- Ensuring timely completion of all the groups external submission obligations including P11D’s and PSA
- Pro-actively take responsibility for personal development
Essential Requirements:
- Part or newly qualified ACCA, ACA
- IFRS accounting, FRS 101 and 102
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office programmes
- Preparation of statutory accounts under varying accounting standards
- Previous Auditing experience would be a benefit
- Good working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
- Good knowledge of internal controls
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and can communicate at all levels
- Ability to work within a team
- Time management and prioritisation to tight deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Excellent organisation skills
