Our client, an extremely successful business, part of a large international Group experiencing impressive growth, is looking to recruit a Financial Controller to run their UK based division. Managing a finance team of 5 and acting as a key contributing member of the senior management team, the Financial Controller will work closely with the Group CFO and divisional MD to deliver key goals and ensure all financial information is delivered accurately and on time.
Key responsibilities will include:
Candidates will be formally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and possess recent experience in a similar, varied finance role that is hands on, whilst contributing to the strategic development of a business. Demonstrable staff management experience is essential, together with a detailed and pro-active approach and a resilient, measured and robust character. The ability to push back on individuals / the business where appropriate is essential, partnered with advanced Excel skills and the desire to work in a fast paced business with ambitious growth plans. Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the monthly board pack, including monthly management accounts, review of stock, investigation of variances and associated commentary
- Preparation of the annual 5 year plan and annual budget
- Key involvement in the monthly board meetings, contributing to the financial review and forward strategy of the business
- Pro-actively reviewing and managing KPIs and key management information
- Management of the annual audit process and key contact for external auditors
- Management of working capital
- Foreign exchange planning and management
- Overseeing the running of the finance function, including maintaining ledgers, fixed assets, cashbook and banking, payroll and reconciliations
- Management and development of the finance team
