An exciting Management Accountant opportunity has become available for a recently qualified individual looking to build a career within a highly commercial organisation.
My client is a Global business who can offer long term career progression to individuals who have a strong academic background and the ability to influence the business.
In this role you will be responsible for the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts for several major joint venture projects:
• Prepare monthly management and commercial reporting packs. Help to improve reporting and communication of financial issues
• Liaise with commercial and operational managers in respect of business unit and project profit and cash forecasts
• Work with project teams to accurately report the results in management & year-end accounts, including preparation and/or detailed review of the statutory financial statements
• Project manage the setup of new projects - including set up of new accounting systems and the drafting of new reporting packs
• Provide information to assist with pre-qualifications and tendering
• Analyse, report and recommend action on business unit overhead performance
• Support the periodic budgeting and planning process
• Provide financial analysis - including agreed key performance indicators - to aid profit, cost and cash flow management
• Provide maintenance and oversight of financial records, for example ensuring costs are recorded in the right place and new jobs are set up correctly within the general ledger
• Support the commercial team with the annual financial audit
• Support the Financial Controller in delivering ad hoc project work (e.g. efficiency reviews, IT projects, business plan production)
Personal qualities required in this role:
• Effective communicator, a strong team ethic and a desire to share knowledge
• Confident, ambitious, well-rounded and able to relate to senior executives
• Self-motivated target setter
• Analytical, flexible and creative: able to research complex issues and solve poorly defined problems in innovative ways, with an attention to detail
• Experience of reporting to board level
• Commercial acumen, with experience at working across businesses / disciplines
• Strong financial and analytical skills
• Performance management and measurement, and business case preparation
• Strong Excel skills
