Financial Controller

Independent Creative Agency with a great portfolio of clients and a very successful digital offering is looking for a Head of Finance to join their finance team of 3. This is a hands on role running day to day finance functions, working closely with both MD's and helping them make commercial decisions.

This role is purely for candidates with agency background, proactive, ready to muck in! 4 days per week optional!

• Line responsibility of the finance operations comprising 2 staff responsible for payroll, accounts payable, sales ledger, fixed assets, cash management

• Lead and manage the annual budgeting & monthly accounts to date and forecasting process across the company

• Review of income with Account Directors on a twice monthly basis

• Reconciling monthly income for management accounts. Preparing forecasts of income for future months.

• Oversee WIP and ensure that this is tightly controlled

• Oversee cash management including relationship with the company’s bankers

• Oversee insurance policies for the company

• Monthly reporting of financial information to senior leadership team and reviewing/preparation of board papers/presentations

• Ensuring that regulatory requirements are met including taxation, compliance, statutory accounting

• Oversee and review the preparation of VAT returns

• Preparation of client profitability reports, reviewing these with account team and work to improve unprofitable clients
