Our client is a leading SaaS based business providing software and technology products and services to the financial services sector. This innovative business is headquartered in the UK and is profitable and cash generative. The sights of the management team are fixed on continued growth internationally with a view to an eventual exit. As part of its exciting growth plans, the business now wishes to appoint a CFO to the Board to work as a business partner alongside the CEO.
Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will be responsible for all financial reporting and control; treasury & taxation; liaison with customers, suppliers and partners as well as investors, bankers and advisors; and the management of the overall finance function. The role will be challenging, requiring a qualified accountant equally at home in the detail as he/she is dealing with raising finance and dealing with investors/advisors. This is a truly commercial role with responsibility across the business at the highest level and the CFO will play a key part in the continued growth of the business.
Ideal candidates will be qualified accountants with significant experience at a senior level. They will have a background in growth companies in the SaaS/technology/software space generally; international experience; M&A; experience of dealing with investors. Previous private equity and/or experience of operating in a leveraged environment will be advantageous. The role will be challenging and the right candidate will relish this opportunity to be the right hand man/woman to the CEO and will be seeking a high profile, highly accountable opportunity. Above all they should be commercially focused individuals, keen to play a part in a driving a business forward to an exit.
Candidates should possess the following attributes: a qualified accountant with experience at a senior level; strong financial control skills gained in a high performance culture and a proactive hands-on approach; real business instincts and a broad mindset; entrepreneurial spirit, drive; at ease with people; a good communicator; credibility with investors.
