Our client, an established construction company with offices in North West London are looking to source a Finance Manager to join their growing team. The Finance Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the finance team, for the management of the finance processes and delivery of the management accounts, annual financial statements and the development of financial reporting systems.

Key responsibilities:

-Ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the Finance function through good staff management and strong governance processes.
-Delivery of the monthly management reports and analysis within deadlines.
-Liaising with Directors, Quantity Surveyor, Project Managers and other departmental managers and staff in relation to the preparation of monthly management reports.
-Controlling the month end close process and reviewing reconciliation of the all balance sheet accounts.
-Delivery of the annual financial statements and tax computations.
-Management of the annual audit process.
-Delivery of the annual budget and forecasts as required.
-Providing day to day management, leadership and support to Finance staff.
-Reviewing the adequacy of financial controls and processes and identifying and implementing improvements.
-Motivating and leading the team's development and implementation of process improvements.
-Identification and implementation of process improvements based on efficiencies and/or improved controls.
-Completion of VAT returns.
-Completing R&D tax returns.
-Completion of returns to the Department of Statistics.
-Review of weekly and monthly payrolls and reporting of variances to budgets or forecasts.
-Regular 1:1's and annual performance appraisal of Finance staff.

This role will suit a candidate with a background in an accountancy practice and a strong understanding of statutory accounts, VAT and Tax. The role also plays a key part in helping to transition 'finance' into a leading function and business partnering with operational teams will also be an essential part of this. The ideal candidate would be willing to take a 'hands on' approach to the finance department and will be enthusiastic, pro-active and able to share the company's ambition.
