An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a talented part time Chief Financial Officer working for a dynamic international healthcare company.

To support the ongoing successful development and growth of the business, an opportunity has arisen for a talented hands-on Finance Director. As CFO, you will focus on ensuring a strong financial structure for the company and retaining control in a fast-growth environment.  You must build a strong working relationship with internal management and the shareholders. You will support and assist in commercial business decisions as well as support the future development of the business from a financial and business planning perspective.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the finance function
  • Contributing to the strategic leadership of the organisation
  • Working closely with the Directors and Investors in the development of the company strategy and in the delivery of this strategy;
  • Directing the financial management and defending margin by interrogating cost base;  
  • Advising the Directors by input and financial analysis on all key business deals; 
  • Manage the Board reporting process, including financial and non-financial reporting to ensure that all business issues and opportunities are covered
  • Lead on budget, annual budget setting and re-forecasting;
  • Preparation of board papers and financial reporting at monthly board meetings;
  • Management of monthly P&L against budget, recommending areas for investment/disinvestment;
  • Responsibility for ensuring all contractual paperwork is in place with all clients and suppliers and for the completeness and accuracy of the financial elements of these, including the agreement on commercial aspects including contract and invoice timing
  • Ideal attributes:
  • A qualified accountant with at least 10 years commercial finance experience.
  • Real hands-on accounting experience and willingness to get into the detail in all areas of the business.
  • Experienced manager and effective influencer
  • Understanding of and exposure to the Healthcare/ Pharmaceutical industry sector.
  • Experience of working within a startup or small, fast growing company.

It is crucial that the successful candidate possesses strong business and commercial acumen to quickly grasp the key issues and to interact with the wider team.  As CFO, you must have the ability to develop all business processes to improve efficiency and delivery and retain control of the business.
