The firm's services are organised across 4 distinct service offerings of Accountancy & Audit, Business Taxation, Private Client services and Corporate Finance with recent growth being seen across all areas.

As part of the firm's planned future growth the Partner team have identified a need to create the new role of Practice Director.
THE JOB:
The Practice Director will provide leadership and management of the firm's administrative, facilities, legal, financial and legislative compliance activities. This will specifically include:
- Administrative support functions; including resource planning and line management of support staff across both locations.
- Practice finance; including monthly payroll, reviews of monthly management accounts and Practice overheads, and monitoring billings and WIP across the firm.
- Compliance, regulatory and risk management; including managing FCA and data protection, managing all compliance and insurance responsibilities and relationship management with external parties.
- Infrastructure and facilities; including managing all facilities-related contractors and suppliers, managing all utilities and building leases (including contract/lease/provision negotiations), procurement of office facilities and any building fit-outs or upgrades, and relationship management with landlords, managing agents and suppliers.
- HR and people related responsibilities; including managing all employee pension and benefits provision, formulating, maintaining and performing an annual review of all company policies and procedures in line with all employment legislation, and managing all disciplinary and redundancy situations.
Additionally, the Practice Director will work closely and constructively with the internal Marketing and IT support teams to ensure and enhance the smooth running of all aspects of the firm.

THE PERSON:
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a professional accounting qualification
- Have substantial experience of managing, monitoring and making incremental improvements to a company's accounting and financial performance and processes
- Demonstrate experience or empathy of the challenges associated with an ambitious small business (less than 200 people)
- Be highly organised whilst being action orientated, with an ability to manage multiple assignments / projects often with competing timescales
- Have a demonstrable ability to instil confidence through their interpersonal and professional credibility.
- Have a breadth of experience relevant to the role.
- Have the ability to exercise effective judgement in a fast paced, professional environment
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to think and act strategically and understand competing priorities
- Have a positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Possess proven leadership skills
- Be able to work with the values and behaviours of impartiality and fairness
- Have specific skills and experience relevant to the operation of a Partnership structure (or Board structure)
- High level of personal integrity
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels
