Purpose of the Regional Finance Director:

This is a full-time role which is based in our International Head Office in the City of London. There will be a requirement to travel frequently.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead the financial and administrative teams across the region to deliver business insight and drive financial performance whilst ensuring robust financial controls. You will need to be a driven and dynamic finance leader with a proven track record.

The Regional Finance Director will work closely with our regional and group finance teams and the country executive management teams to support profitable growth through development and execution of financial and operational plans.

Key responsibilities of the Regional Finance Director:

  • Business Support
    • Business partner to regional CEO`s to develop and execute operational and financial plans
    • Analysis, management and improvement of financial performance
    • Key member of the senior management team with influence and involvement in major strategic and operational decisions
  • Financial Reporting & Control
    • Manage country finance teams to ensure timely reporting to group finance
    • Presentation and explanation of performance against budget, forecast and prior year
    • Management of balance sheet including hands-on review
    • Ensuring financial control including process management and segregation of duties
    • Managing statutory and US GAAP reporting including annual audit
    • Ensure regulatory and statutory compliance in each country
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Preparation, review and management of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
    • Analyse and monitor company revenue and profitability
    • Preparation and execution of business plans
  • Cash Management and Funding
    • Lead working capital management across the region
    • Preparation and review of cash flow forecasts
    • Working closely with corporate treasury in maintaining controls on payments, authority levels and management of bank accounts
    • Managing relationships with banks and other external stakeholders
  • Other
    • Working with our mergers and acquisitions team on due diligence, financial analysis and integration of acquisitions
    • Work closely with corporate colleagues including Colleague Resources, Legal, Real Estate and IT

Key attributes of the Regional Finance Director:

  • Ability to work with different cultures and manage remote teams
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and critical decision making within tight time constraints
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Results oriented, strategic thinker and planner
  • Ability and keen interest in challenging business partners and the status quo whilst maintaining strong working relationships

Skills and knowledge required of the Regional Finance Director:

  • A degree Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with a strong academic profile
  • International experience including multiple geographies
  • Highly skilled in setting and driving the financial strategy and translating the operational activity into financial impact
  • Ability to coach, motivate and empower people across the business at different levels from Financial Controllers to junior accounts colleagues

Experience required of the Regional Finance Director:

  • Broad finance leadership covering full range of finance disciplines, having operated strategically at Director level
  • A background in a service industry would be a distinct advantage
  • Proven track record of successfully, building, leading and motivating a mixed ability team
  • Strong systems skills, with experience of implementation of finance systems desirable
  • To have worked with a leadership team to develop a multi territory financial strategy
  • Understanding of the insurance industry is desirable but not essential
