Oxford Policy Management (OPM) is seeking to recruit two talented Finance Administrator to join the project finance team, one on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract, and one to join us on Permanent Contract. Details about the Finance Administrator role are given below.

 

Objectives of the Finance Administrator Role

The main purpose of this Finance Administrator role is to provide support to the Programme Finance team, as required by the Head of Programme Finance. This support may include:

  • Completion and upload of project budgets based on information and inputs from Project Managers.
  • Update of monthly reporting for projects, portfolios or programmes.
  • Update of Project Financial Review packs.
  • Support work of Financial accounting and Commercial teams as directed, from time to time.

 

Responsibilities of the Finance Administrator:

  • Delivering accurate and consistent project reporting information to meet the needs of the project team and finance management within the required timescales of the programme and the wider group.
  • Completion and upload of project budgets based on information and inputs from Project Managers.
  • Provide financial support to individual projects as required by the Head of Programme Finance, such as supporting the commissioning of research teams onto OPM managed programmes.
  • Assist the PFM in supporting Project Managers in providing required financial reporting to clients and Joint Venture partners.
  • Check charge-out rates on projects, liaising with Project Administrators to ensure these are updated in a timely fashion.
  • Assist on providing information for programme specific audits.
  • Support the year-end audit process by assisting on the collection of information from PMs on milestone projects.
  • Upload of annual budgets to SUN.

 

Level of Autonomy of the Finance Administrator:

  • Liaise directly with Project Administrators to request changes to charge out rates.
  • Upload project budgets onto V1.

 

Examples of Challenges faced by the Finance Administrator:

  • This Finance Administrator role is required to provide support across the different Programmes, so will be working for different PFMs at different times, ability to adapt to different working styles.
  • Will need to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, (PFMs, PMs, PAs) to perform tasks, so needs to be pro-active and adaptable in finding the most effective communication method for each.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent numeracy and IT skills (especially Excel) and very good attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand high volumes of complex financial information.
