Finance Business Partner (Project), Central London – Arts, up to £40,000 plus benefits
A finance business partner position based on project work has become available in a large arts organisation based in Central London. The selected candidate will report into the Senior Management Accountant and will work on various projects ranging from small to capital in size.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure that Directors and budget holders are provided with the financial and non-financial information, interpretation and analysis they need to make well-informed decisions
- Contribute to the delivery of the monthly finance packs, providing variance analysis, project updates and other narrative.
- Contribute towards the annual budget process and in-year forecasting for their relevant departments
- Analyse results and variances for the individual departments within their remit and critically review out-turn forecasts.
- Provide assistance with business cases that relate to projects, ensuring these provide the necessary information for approval and providing challenge, as required.
- Manage the project cashflows and dashboard reporting for capital and other projects undertaken by the Museum, ensuring these are kept up-to-date and report on these on a regular basis.
- Provide end of project reporting to assist with understanding around the achievement of anticipated benefits from the projects.
- Maintain and improve budgetary and progress reports and the integrity of the ledgers. Ensure that additional reports produced to assist budget holders in understanding their performance are in a format that can easily be understood by all users of the information and reconcile back to ledgers.
- Contribute towards the creation and maintenance of a long-term financial model that can be used to identify issues well in advance and identify mitigating actions.
- Ensure monthly meetings with budget holders are able to deliver accurate accruals.
- Prepare accrual and other correcting journals as required and to review and check the validity of codings
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified or Part Qualified Finalist accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA with solid relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience of using accounting software, combined with strong Excel and Word skills.
- Solid experience of working in a Project Business Partnering role in an environment which uses modern accounting systems and procedures.
- Experience of working with budget holders to enable them to deliver good quality budgets and forecasts.
- Self-motivated and responsible, demonstrating a commitment to the highest ethical and professional values, and with a conscientious and meticulous approach to work.
- An interest in the cultural sector is desirable
