Our client is a registered charity and leading provider of education, residential and day services for people who have complex epilepsy, severe neurological conditions, learning and physical disabilities.  Located near to Alderley Edge, Cheshire, they operate a special needs school and college, 24 care homes, and a wide range of vocational training, work experience and leisure activities.  They employ 950+ people and have an annual turnover of £27m.

Reporting directly to the CEO the role of Director of Resources is ideal for an experienced general manager or senior operational manager with broad business and commercial experience looking to move into the Charity sector. 

As a key member of the Executive leadership team you will be responsible for directing the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans for the finance, human resources, IT, fundraising and estates management functions while making a major contribution to the long-term success of the organisation. 

You will lead on the development and implementation of risk management strategies to ensure the organisation operates within agreed levels of risk and complies with all external control and reporting requirements.  You will also be responsible for the provision of financial and management information to ensure effective governance and management of the organisation.

The successful candidate will hold a professional accounting or recognised business qualification and be able to demonstrate a successful career path into a senior management position.  You will display clear leadership qualities, be a strategic thinker and demonstrate a high degree of personal effectiveness.  Knowledge of the Care, Healthcare or Educational sectors and commissioning and funding processes would be desirable but not essential.
