Job Purpose
A key member of the financial reporting team, this individual will produce monthly and annual financial information for the group, whilst ensuring we are compliant with all legal and statutory obligations.
Job Scope
Reports to the Group Financial Controller
Responsibilities
- Managing a team of 3 (Payroll & CIS Officer and 2 Accounts Assistants).
- Preparation of monthly consolidated and individual P&Ls and balance sheets for numerous group companies, including:
- Preparing and inputting journals.
- Reviewing site accruals.
- Review of site-by-site P&Ls, including month-on-month variance analysis.
- Review of Head Office P&L including MOM variance analysis.
- Completing financial sections of the monthly Board Report including Actual vs Budget commentary.
- Preparing year-end Group consolidated accounts model and statutory accounts under IFRS and FRS 101.
- Ensuring that any updates to accounting standards are properly reflected in the financial reporting.
- Reviewing all aspects of payroll, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
- Strengthening internal controls and improving processes to comply with statutory requirements.
- Answering P&L queries from site managers.
- Working with Head of People & Culture on ad hoc data requests e.g. Gender Pay Reporting, Bonus Schemes etc.
- Ensuring compliance with all our contractual agreements for all entities.
- Supporting the CEO, CFO and Group Financial Controller as required.
- Any other tasks which the company may reasonably request from time to time.
Attributes & Experience
- ACA qualified, preferably from a Big 4 firm with 2+ years PQE in industry.
- Practical experience and knowledge of IFRS and ideally FRS 101.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to adhere to strict time deadlines.
- Excellent communication and variance analysis skills.
- Experience of a property company that provides B2B services.
- Highly proficient in Excel.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Impressive report writing skills.
- Team player.
- Creative in solving problems.
- Experience in supporting change; a “change agent”.
- Experience of managing teams to deliver high quality output.
