One of the UK's most reputable and long-standing organisations are recruiting for a brand new Tax Manager role based in Chesterfield. As Tax Manager, you will be working closely with the Financial Director and the Head of Tax to provide comprehensive tax advisory for the relevant group entities within the organisation. Your main objective will be to assist with the preparation of VAT return, period ends to maximise cash flow benefits, and reviewing the group's corporation tax returns within the provision of their annual accounts.

In your role as the Tax Manager, you will take on various duties and responsibilities. Your main responsibilities will include:

*Work with the Tax Manager to provide a comprehensive tax advisory service to all relevant persons within the group of companies.
*Provide tax accounting support under relevant GAAP
*Work with the Tax Manager in developing the group's tax position and to take preventative action to avoid penalties and interest charges
*Work with the Tax Manager in updating policies and procedures documentation to enable the Chief Financial Officer to fulfil his responsibilities under the Senior Accounting Officer processes required by HM Revenue and Customs
*Work with the Tax Manager to provide regular tax training, technical updates and workshop sessions to appropriate staff
*Review the group's corporation tax returns and assist in the tax provision for the annual accounts and CT 600 return for review by the Tax Manager
*Prepare capital allowances claims for inclusion in the CT 600 return and perform capital gains tax calculations where appropriate for review by the Tax Manager
*Investigate opportunities for R&D tax credit claims and prepare submissions where appropriate
*Assist the Tax Manager with the preparation of the VAT return, promptly and accurately after period end in order to maximise cash flow benefits, avoiding errors and penalties
*Prepare the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement for review by the Tax Manager
*Assist in reviewing and monitor the adequacy of systems, procedures and other relevant records to ensure compliance with VAT and other taxation regulations

They are looking for individuals who are ideally qualified tax accountants (ATT and/or CTA) and have experience in and understanding of ERP systems, ideally SAP. You should have knowledge of Corporation Tax accounting, whilst having the ability to build relationships with internal and external customers (including HMRC).
