Assistant Accountant

An exciting opportunity has become available to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding accountancy firm in Chesterfield.

This role reports directly into one of the firm's Partners, and will involve overseeing a portfolio of clients - reviewing work, looking after clients' needs and allocating work to more junior staff.

Working from newly refurbished offices in the town centre, the firm looks at providing general accounting services to a broad range of clients from all industry sectors, ranging from sole traders and wealthy individuals through to limited companies of around £40m turnover. The majority of the work will be in producing accounts and tax computations as well as any relevant project or advisory work, typically aimed at helping clients grow their businesses or reduce costs. Local travel to client sites will sometimes be required.

Ideally a qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA) you will have a strong track record within accountancy practice and have experience of accounts preparation for a wide variety of businesses. Experience in tax or audit is an advantage but is not essential. An organised person with good communication and leadership skills, you will be proactive and enjoy working closely with clients, advising them on growth and financial strategy.
