A hands-on Finance Director / Financial Controller is wanted for a dynamic mail order business. The company has a turnover of £100m and retails electrical products through category websites including Laptopsdirect.co.uk and Appliancesdirect.co.uk.
They also have a white label division for large retail clients such as Debenhams and Bhs.
Reporting directly to the MD, you will be managing a small Finance team at the main Huddersfield office and will be responsible for all the functions of the Accounts department.
You will have a significant experience in a senior management role such as Financial Controller or Finance Director and have an extensive hands-on accounts experience in a similarly sized company, ideally one with a high volume of transactions. Successful candidates will be ACCA or CIMA qualified, highly organised and have strong people management skills. You will also be used to working hands-on and will have a fundamental grasp of detail, especially involving complex data. An understanding of the accounting issues involving stock in a volume distributor, reseller, retailer or e-tailer is essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Navision will be an advantage.
Capable of working under your own initiative and happy taking high level direction, you will also be commercially aware and be capable of, and interested in, interacting with all aspects of the business. This position suits someone with experience of working in an entrepreneurial environment rather than a more structured corporate.
Ideally you live within easy travelling distance of Huddersfield (We are willing to consider applicants within 30 miles radius of our head office at HD2 1UA).
