MediaCityUK is one of the most exciting developments in Europe with the ambition to become a world-class hub for content creation, new ideas and innovative business models. Situated on Manchester’s spectacular waterfront at Salford Quays, the first phase is due for completion in 2011 and will include the new headquarters of BBC North.
MediaCityUK is being developed and managed by Peel Media, a division of The Peel Group, a leading infrastructure, transport and real estate enterprise in the UK with assets owned, under management, in excess of £6bn. Peel Media is seeking an experienced Finance Director to join the Leadership team responsible for delivering MediaCityUK.
As part of a small Executive team you will responsible for providing decisive leadership of the Finance function and assume responsibility for all aspects of financial direction and management. This will involve supporting the two main Peel Media business areas of property and media services, and ensuring that the financial systems, processes and reporting are in place to meet current and future group, divisional and statutory requirements. Other key tasks will include evaluating business cases for commercial opportunities including joint ventures and strategic partnerships, as well as future funding and potential acquisition opportunities.
Of graduate calibre and a qualified Accountant, you should have experience of leading a highly effective and business orientated finance function and organisation where finance plays a lead role in key decision-making and future direction. You will need to be persuasive, able to influence at the highest levels and be capable of ensuring that the Management team are well supported and financially astute in the running of their business. With a strong commercial perspective you must have the ability to contribute to the development of business strategy and to input strongly into all key business and commercial situations and issues. Proven skills in providing financial leadership combined with the presence to manage relationships with investors and shareholders are essential.
