A fast growing physical Commodity Trading business in London is seeking a part or qualified Management Accountant to join their team in an all-round accounting role.
This is an extremely exciting opportunity someone with experience or a demonstrable interest in commodities such as oil, metals and/or trading of these, as the successful candidate will enjoy a great deal of interaction with the traders and front office of the business.

In this key accounting role you will be responsible for:
The role is a contracting position that could become permanent. The role entails detailed work around rebuilding/resurrecting a financial reporting function and liaising with trade and operational staff to create a finance function that adds value to the management of the business and the group. Initially the work will entail both retrospective and forward looking analysis. The role will evolve into maintaining and improving the reporting monthly process of the accounts. The right candidate could ultimately be in charge of managing the financial reporting of the Business division.
Skills required:
- Good Excel knowledge. Modelling desired but not essential.
- Knowledge of ITAS operating system desired but not essential.
- Attention to detail and problem solving.
- A forensic mindset.
- Either experience or a demonstrable interest in commodities such as oil, metals and/or trading of these
To be effective in this role, you should:
- Be either part or qualified Accountant or equivalent.
- Be willing to be hands-on with all aspects of accounting.
- Be a team player.
- Manage time well, be a strong communicator - in particular in managing expectations on the delivery of work.
- Prioritise tasks and understand the big picture.
- Rise to challenges, be creative and enjoy a hard working and exhilarating/fun environment.
The contracting rate is up to £200 per day.
