Job description
This is an exceptional opportunity within a major Business Services company. It is looking for a Project Financial Controller to fit in as a senior person within the Project team (looking at contracts around £50 million plus) and work closely alongside the Program Director and report directly to the Board. The team is made up of around 20 people and the key responsibilities are: develop strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders such that difficult conversations can be had in an open and productive way; work closely with the Program Director to provide financial analysis on the performance and trends; advising on potential improvements to the financial results and forecasts; ensure robust, timely and accurate forecasts are produced (strong focus on revenue recognition); understand the forecast, including working capital and cash flow; explaining deviations from previous forecast and the agreed plan; produce monthly report for the UK Board, including variance analysis; monitoring invoice production and cash collection, providing advice to maximise cash flow; manage the working capital by working closely with the Programme Director and Project Managers, taking proactive steps to manage reduction. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Accountant with experience of working on long-term fixed price outsourcing contracts. They will be an exceptional communicator as this is a client facing role within the high profile Projects team of a large international company. An interim source is required given the imminent go ahead of a new contract from a high profile client. The role can be based in various locations across London, Surrey and the South East depending on the individual. On this occasion, Surrey would be ideal but there is room for negotiation. This is a genuinely outstanding opportunity for an exceptional candidate to gain valuable experience.
