This finance role is aligned to a specific channel and provides analytical and decision support to the Sales Director and Business Units (Customer account groups).

The role works in partnership with the other channel accountants and senior managers within Business Analysis. They may also have direct experience of the full entrepreneurial life cycle of a company including exposure to trade finance and private equity investors.

Responsibilities will include:
• Month End – Posting various Journals each month including Payroll and Accruals/Prepayments, Producing the TB, PNL, Balance Sheet and inputting into the consolidation for review by the Finance Director.
• Audit – Preparing documentation for the Year End Audit.
• Barclaycard – responsible for Credit Cards and ensuring that there are sufficient funds available when requests are made, checking and posting statement either via a Purchase Order or directly to the Nominal Ledger.
• Projects – Setting up new Project Codes in Sage and in Intervals, running the Weekly Capacity Planning and Utilisation Reports.
• Banking – Posting and reconciling Transactions from the Bank Statements (GBP/EUR/USD), updating Cash flow with Sales Invoices/Credits and Supplier Invoices/Credits, preparing the Creditors Report for the Weekly payment run for all companies, setting up new benefices, payments and Intercompany Transfers.
• Suppliers – Setting up New Suppliers, creating Purchase Orders, getting Invoices approved and processing against Purchase Orders or directly to the nominal ledger. Obtaining approval for increases in Purchase Orders and updating Sage accordingly. Ensuring regular monthly invoices have been received each month and requesting copies prior to Month End Posting Deadline.
• Customers – Setting up New Customers, raising Sales Invoices/Credits from Requisition Forms, running Debtors Report for all Companies, contacting the Clients Finance Department to obtain confirmation of expected payment date. Communicating to the Project Manager/Project Director any queries raised and ensuring these re dealt with quickly and efficiently, escalating to the Finance Director substantial delays that could affect cash flow.
• Prepare VAT Return in line with the Quarterly VAT cycle, check and correct any errors to the original documents, insure that EC Transactions have an EC VAT Number and that this is recorded separately, submitting the VAT Return online along with the EC Sales List.
• Expenses – Checking and processing Weekly Expenses in time for the Weekly Payment Run and ensuring that the VAT has been accounted for correctly.
• Ad hoc - Opening Accounts post, answering for the phone and replying to e-mails, Sage Back-ups
