The role

Reporting to the Treasury Manager, this critical role will be responsible for overseeing the businesses finances and the associated financial risk, managing the exposures. One will be responsible for the daily dealing operations, ensuring liquidity is maintained and cash shortfalls are avoided.

The key accountabilities will include:-
- Manage lending of funds by the regulated business to the non-regulated elements, avoiding cash shortfalls, ensuring that licence conditions are not breached
- Assist the Treasury Manager in ensuring that the group’s cash is invested as efficiently as possible (with due regard to counter party risk).
- Assist in the production and collation of monthly treasury management information and quarterly reporting to the treasury committee.
- Assist in the department’s credit investor relations activities, including preparation of investor presentations, arranging meetings and preparing communications.
- Assist in ensuring that the department maintains accurate records via the treasury accounting and management information systems.
- Other ad hoc projects.

The person

The successful applicant will ideally be educated to degree level and be a recent fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant. You will either be moving out of practice for the first time, or currently in a similar role within industry. The ideal candidate will be highly numerate, have an analytical mind, with a high degree of commercial understanding. They should have a focused on quality and results and able to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Due to the nature of the role, it is also expected that the successful candidate has strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships, inspiring confidence in dealing with senior management and key stakeholders. Strong IT skills are essential, in particular in Excel and Access, and familiarity with SAP finance applications is highly desirable, likewise, as is experience of cash and bank facilities management.
