Network Rail is at the heart of revitalising Britain’s railway. Wales has seen significant annual growth in terms of investment in recent years, and this is set to continue. In fact we’re spending £1bn over the next five years on maintaining, operating and renewing the infrastructure. We also envisage over £0.5bn of enhancement works that will be funded by third parties. One of the biggest will be the electrification of the South Wales mainline and Valleys network. In short, it’s big finance, and these are exciting times.

As a Finance Manager, you’ll act as a partner to the senior functional Head and their team in the management of all finance and business issues. You’ll also have a key role in advising the business on how we can deliver efficiencies and improve our safety and train performance.
Challenging existing business and working practices and striving for continuous improvement within the business unit will be important too, as will identifying opportunities to maximise income streams. Contributing to business case analyses, monitoring corporate governance and developing your direct reports – all are elements of this pivotal role.
