Female accountancy graduates entering the workplace in 2010 may be interested in the findings of the World Economic Forum's Corporate Gender Gap Report 2010.
The recently released results show that employers are missing out on the talents of many female workers due to inequalities in the workplace.
Not enough is being done to combat the issue and there need to be renewed efforts to close the gap, the report suggested.
Acas head of equality Steve Williams agreed with this and explained that the problem is a "big issue".
"There is still a gender pay gap in the UK economy," he said.
"It's a multi-faceted issue. There isn't one thing you can point to. Many other things come into play and it is the interaction of these that contributes to the gender pay gap."
The Corporate Gender Gap Report 2010 looked at the results of a survey of 600 of the world's leading firms across 16 industries in 20 nations.
