
Deloitte has made a number of significant appointments as it continues to provide audit, tax and consulting services to over half of the world's largest companies.
Margaret Ewing, formerly chief financial officer at airport operator BAA, will join as vice-chairman on February 1st. She will lead the company's finance director agenda, which is geared towards bringing services to directors of larger companies.
Ms Ewing, who also worked as group finance director at Trinity Mirror, said: "I'm extremely pleased to be joining Deloitte. My decision is based on the firm's reputation for boldness and dynamism and the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients and expert professionals."
Deloitte's chief executive, John Connolly, said that Ms Ewing's appointment was "one of a series of high calibre appointments we are making as we continue to innovate to build the depth and breadth of our client offerings."
The company has also hired Mike Woodward, formerly of IBM Consulting, as automotive consulting partner in the UK manufacturing team.
There he will be working to develop opportunities in the automotive sector. He has experience advising companies such as Toyota, Honda, BMW, General Motors and Ford, and has also led KPMG's automotive group.
