
John Connolly has been elected the new global chairman of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.
Currently chief executive and senior partner of Deloitte UK, Mr Connolly will assume his new role on June 1st this year, once the appointment has been finalised, replacing the outgoing board chairman Piet Hoogendoorn.
The Big Four auditor's board has also named James Quigley as Deloitte's next global chief executive officer, succeeding William Parrett when the latter's term ends on May 31st, subject to a vote by member firm partners.
The outgoing chairman said: "I am very proud that we have two great partners to assume these leadership roles.
"John's remarkable achievements as chief executive, Deloitte UK, his role as global managing director and his leadership skills, give him the right experience to take on the chief governance role. I am confident that he will continue to steer Deloitte in the right direction."
Deloitte's member firms have experienced double-digit growth for the past five years and have witnessed consistent expansion over the past 14 years.
