PwC announces new technology leader Big 4 accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has appointed a new technology leader Barry Murphy.

Mr Murphy will take the position of technology sector leader at the firm in the UK following roles in PwC's London and Los Angeles offices since he joined the company in 1994.

According to a statement from the firm, Mr Murphy's key skills are in the area of tax and in his new job he will be aiming to drive research and bed practice and share expertise across the company.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Murphy said he was "delighted", adding: "Despite economic challenges, there are always exciting developments in the sector that make the technology arena an exciting and varied place to be."

Meanwhile, Electrolux has employed former Munters executive vice-president Jonas Samuelson as its new chief financial officer.

He will take on the role later this year, in the place of Fredrik Rystedt.
