A city asset management group could be set to leave the UK over its business
tax regime.
The Henderson Group could make a decision on the switch this week, according to the Telegraph, when it announces its interim trading results.
According to the newspaper, it could be the first big financial services business in the City to
relocate and could "send shockwaves" through other firms and also the Treasury.
Mike Warbuton,
tax partner at accountancy firm Grant Thornton, said that the Chancellor should view the potential move "with great concern".
"The Treasury needs financial services businesses to start upping sticks and going abroad like it needs a hole in the head," he added.
Big 4 firm PricewaterhouseCoopers could be set to develop its internal structure.
Sam DiPiazza, the global head of the firm, told the Financial Times that the revamp would help it expand in emerging markets.
