
A pair of the leading accountancy firms in Manchester are set to introduce changes to their top level of management.
Business advisory firm KPMG has split the role of Malcolm Edge, who encompassed the position of both chairman for the north and Manchester office senior partner, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Mr Edge will remain as regional chairman and Jonathan Hurst has been appointed as the new senior partner in the Manchester office.
"It's a privilege to take this exciting opportunity. The office is vibrant and we have a superb team here in Manchester," Mr Hurst told the newspaper.
Fellow firm Grant Thornton is welcoming back Graeme Whittaker, after he spent six years working in the company's London offices.
He will succeed John Shinnick as the head of finance in Manchester.
It was recently revealed the UK head of tax at Ernst & Young, Paul Davies, is set to join PricewaterhouseCoopers as a tax partner.
