
The CIMA Financial Management awards were held last week to celebrate the success of leading performers in the industry.
Held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, awards were given to CIMA members, students and suppliers who have shone over the past year.
Surath Chandrasena won the Outstanding Examination Performance award for scoring the highest marks in each of his six managerial exams, which has never been achieved before.
The Tutor of the Year award was given to Zoe Robinson of Kaplan Financial, Leeds, who helped develop the TOPCIMA teaching programme.
In the Finance Team of the Year awards, East Midland Ambulance Service NHS Trust scooped the prize for the public sector, while Capgemini UK won the private sector award.
CIMA president Glynn Lowth said: "I would like to congratulate all of the award winners.
"This year, we were overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of all the nominations received."
Meanwhile, CIMA has said that management accountants are vital in helping local councils meet their green targets.
The organisation said that such professionals have a key role to play in supporting strategy and influencing long-term decision-making.
