University students in Wales will benefit from employability training from business advisory firm the Deloitte Foundation, it has been confirmed.
Accountancy graduates will soon be able to boast not only a highly skilled degree but also extra training aimed at helping them with the transition from university to the workplace.
Laura Williams, of Deloitte explained that while there is nothing wrong with the current standard of graduates, the extra training will certainly add value to their profiles at a time when job applicants need it most.
"Employers of all sizes and across all sectors have long complained that potential employees, while they may have the requisite technical skills, lack the appropriate personal skills, attitudes and behaviours to succeed in the workplace," she said.
Accountancy graduate recruitment is becoming increasingly demanding, and with the number of unemployed rising throughout the UK, graduates are facing extra competition for jobs.
A Wales Online report has detailed that up to 80,000 students could benefit from the training, however, offering a great chance to impress potential employers.
