Rugby fans might be forgiven for thinking they had taken a step back in time last Sunday as an accountant ran out onto the field for a top-flight team.
However, if his debut performance is anything to go by, Andrew Fenby could soon have to choose between sitting behind a desk and getting to grips with the opposition on a muddy field every week.
Mr Fenby, 23, who works as a qualified accountant for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Newcastle, ran in a try after four minutes of his first game for the city's Falcons rugby union team.
And although he was back at his desk at 09:00 the following morning, Mr Fenby admits he will have some serious thinking to do if the club do offer him a full-time contract.
Speaking to the Newcastle Journal he said: "I have discussed the option of a career break with work, and it could be something that works out.
"The company have been fantastic with me, giving me flexible hours to fit around training in recent weeks."
Mr Fenby's performance helped Newcastle Falcons secure a 32-25 win against Sale Sharks which left the team eighth in the Guinness Premiership.
