Deloitte will be looking to talented workers to help it get through the recession, the firm has revealed.
The company saw gross revenues fall by two per cent to £1.97 billion during the year to May 2009, while net revenues remained all but static at £1.7 billion.
Distributable profit fell by 6.1 per cent to £601 million over the same period.
Despite this, John Connolly, senior partner at Deloitte, stated that the firm had performed in a satisfactory manner during what are "extremely tough" conditions.
He said: "Looking forward, we anticipate only a fragile and slow recovery, and our success will continue to be the product of our exceptionally talented people being relentlessly committed to our clients, to market leading innovative service and to an obsession with quality."
Meanwhile, a new study by BDO Stoy Hayward has predicted that the UK could see an end to the recession in the next few months.
